Who is this for:

Suitable for all pregnant women. Designed to be taken throughout pregnancy to support changing nutritional requirements. It is particularly relevant for those seeking a science-led, clinically informed prenatal following conception, IVF or IUI treatment. It's also appropriate if you didn't take a preconception supplement beforehand, formulated to support you across all three trimesters in one consistent formula.

The importance of support for all three trimesters:

Your nutrient needs shift as pregnancy progresses, and Time to Carry® is formulated to keep up with them. In the first trimester, Folate and Methylfolate support your baby's early neural development. As you move into the second trimester, Iron becomes more important as your blood volume expands. And by the third trimester, Choline and other supporting nutrients take on a bigger role as your baby's brain develops rapidly. Rather than switching products or trying to track what you need when, Time to Carry® covers all three stages in one consistent formula, from early pregnancy right through to birth.

How to take it:

We recommend you take your four daily capsules after food, ideally spread over the course of the day, however, it is possible to take all three daily capsules at once. Please remember that routine is key with supplements. While missing a day or two won’t have a big impact, taking it consistently will ensure the best possible results.

Backed by 125+ clinical studies, developed with OB-GYN doctors and research scientists, and aligned with NHS nutritional guidance. Independently recommended by midwives and doctors across the UK.

Tastes and smells like the bottom of an aquarium. Impossible to take without gagging. Threw it away.

My Midwife recommended this

My midwife recommended this in my first appointment (much better than pregnacare she said as has all the nutrients at the actual levels you need). Very easy to swallow - and I've had issues with this taking big pills in pregnancy - so I'm really happy with that. Wish you could buy eg months at a time though to save ££

Such a good quality product that is science and evidence led

Such a good quality product that is science and evidence led, would recommend. The only problem I’ve found is the strong smell has made the tablets quite difficult to take while suffering from early pregnancy sickness!

Thank you for your kind words and for recommending our product!

On the smell, we completely understand how difficult this can be during early pregnancy when everything feels more intense. A tip that many find helpful is opening the capsules and mixing the powder into a smoothie, yoghurt, or juice instead of swallowing them whole. This can make them much easier to take and sidesteps the smell issue entirely.

Hoping the sickness eases soon and that Time to Carry® continues to support you well.

Hi I have to saying love the brand

Hi I have to say I love the brand. The customer service is excellent and I feel like they really care about their brand and product. I struggled to take 4 time to carry capsules throughout the day but was advised that I could open the capsules and use in smoothies etc. I mixed it through my evening kefir and can take without issue now. Thanks for reaching out to me when I had a problem.

Thank you so much for your kind words about the brand, and for sharing this. I'm sorry to hear the capsules have been tough in the first trimester. One tip that many find helpful is opening the capsules and mixing the powder into a smoothie, yoghurt, or juice if swallowing them whole is proving difficult. Taking them with food and splitting the four across the day rather than all at once can also make a real difference.

We specifically chose iron bisglycinate as the form of iron in Time to Carry® as it is one of the gentlest forms on digestion, so I'm sorry to hear it hasn't felt that way. It may be worth trying the tips above first before giving up on it entirely, as many find that once they adjust to taking them with food and across the day, the experience improves significantly.

We hope the nausea eases soon and that Time to Carry® can continue to support you.

Great product!!

Time to Carry® is clinically-dosed and bioavailable, designed to meet the real nutritional demands of pregnancy, but what I love most is what's not in it... no allergens, no artificial colourings, preservatives or flavourings. Just the good stuff, as recommended by fertility experts. It's the kind of prenatal you feel good about taking every single day! Thank you OVUM

Thank you so much for this, and you've described it beautifully. What's not in it is something we feel just as strongly about as what is. Every formulation decision we make is deliberate, and that means no fillers, no artificial additives, and nothing that doesn't earn its place.

Two years of research went into Time to Carry® and knowing that comes through for you every single day is exactly what we set out to achieve. Thank you for being part of our community.

With love,

Great product that contains everything I need!

Great product that contains everything I need. It has made life so much easier, as I no longer have to buy lots of different supplements. Plus it is so reassuring to have a product I know contains all the nutrients I am meant to be taking for baby and me, and in the correct forms and doses.

Thank you so much for this, it really does mean a lot.

You've put it perfectly. Every nutrient in Time to Carry® is included in the form your body can actually use and at doses supported by the clinical research, not just enough to make the label look impressive. We never take a scatter-gun approach of including low doses of a little bit of everything. If a nutrient is in there, it's there for a reason and at a level that makes a real difference.

We're so glad it's made things simpler for you. That was very much the intention.

With love,

LOVE 400mg of Choline

After learning how important choline is for foetal brain development, it was so good to finally see a brand include a meaningful amount. Rather than just a token amount so it can go on the label.

This makes us so happy to read. Choline is one of the nutrients we feel most strongly about including at a meaningful dose, and you've articulated exactly why. The evidence for choline in foetal brain development and neural tube support is compelling, yet it is consistently underrepresented or tokenised in most prenatal supplements.

400mg was a deliberate decision, and it is exactly the kind of detail that separates a formulation built on evidence from one built on label appeal. Thank you for noticing and for sharing this.

With love,
Team OVUM x

What sets our formula apart?

We don't deal in junk science or vague claims; our formulations are based on the latest scientific evidence for maximum impact on your fertility. Discover why our formulas lead the market for efficacy and potency.

The Right Folates

We include both Folic Acid and Methylfolate to support maternal folate status. Folic Acid meets NHS recommendations, while Methylfolate is the biologically active form for women with different folate metabolism needs.

Choline: Supporting Early Brain Development

Choline is a critical nutrient during pregnancy, playing a key role in normal foetal brain and nervous system development. It contributes to cell membrane structure and supports normal cognitive development, while also aiding maternal liver function and lipid metabolism. Maternal Choline requirements increase during pregnancy, and intake is often insufficient. This makes it one of the most important components of prenatal nutrition.

Vitamin B-Complex for Energy and Nerve Function

Time to Carry® is formulated with a complete B-Complex to help support the body’s increased nutritional demands during pregnancy. Key B vitamins contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism and normal nervous system function, supporting maternal health as nutritional requirements change throughout pregnancy.

Iodine for Thyroid & Neurodevelopment

Iodine requirements increase during pregnancy. The WHO recognises Iodine as an essential nutrient during this time, contributing to normal thyroid function and normal cognitive function, helping support maternal nutritional needs as pregnancy progresses.

Vitamin K1 + K2 for Bone and Coagulation Support

Time to Carry® Prenatal includes both Vitamin K1 and our patented Vitamin K2VITAL™ to support maternal nutritional needs during pregnancy. Vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting and plays a role in maintaining normal bone health.

Our patentedf Vitamin K2 is provided as a patented, microencapsulated form of MK-7, specifically designed for use in complex, mineral-containing formulations. This approach helps protect the MK-7 molecule, preserving stability throughout processing, storage, and daily use.

K2VITAL™ is a trademark of Balchem Corporation or its subsidaries.

Look for a formula that covers the essentials at the right levels: at least 400mcg of Folic Acid or Methylfolate, and one that includes NHS-recommended Folic Acid, as well as Methylfolate, the biologically active form for those with genetic variations. Other key nutrients include: 10mcg of Vitamin D, a source of B12, and Iron.

Time to Carry® is built around exactly this: prioritising nutrients such as Iodine, Choline, Iron, and Folate in forms shown to be effective and safe during pregnancy, formulated for pregnancy across all three trimesters. All included nutrients are within established safe intake ranges for pregnancy and align with NHS and WHO guidance, for example, with pregnancy-safe form of Vitamin A only.

Over two years in the making, with countless OB GYNs and specialist GPs contributing and evaluating the evidence and formulation to ensure we give you the best and latest scientific evidence on maternal and foetal health translated into a food supplement to support this stage of your journey. Our medical team utilised over 125 clinical studies to create a prenatal supplement that focuses on nutrients critical for placental development, foetal growth, and maternal health, using bioavailable forms and clinically appropriate doses - without unnecessary or potentially harmful nutrients.

Choline plays a structural role in your baby's cell membranes and becomes especially important during the rapid cell growth of the second and third trimesters, alongside supporting your own liver function and lipid metabolism as pregnancy places extra demands on your body. It's also one of the nutrients most standard UK prenatals underdose or leave out altogether.

Time to Carry® includes 400mg of Choline, alongside Methylfolate and Folic Acid together for optimal uptake, plus Iodine and a complete B-Complex, all reflecting the latest evidence rather than an outdated standard formula. Time to Carry® is built to meet the nutritional demands across all three trimesters.

Learn more about the importance of Choline here.

Time to Carry® is suitable for all trimesters.

It has been formulated to be suitable for each trimester of pregnancy. Some products claim that a separate supplement is required for each of the three trimesters of pregnancy. The scientific evidence is not there to support the need for three different products, for each trimester - but it's a great marketing play.

Time to Carry® includes a total of 600mcg of Folate, this is split into 400mcg of Folic Acid, as recommended by NHS guidelines, and 200mcg of Methylfolate. You can read more on why we include this in two forms, as a split dose [here].

They're designed for two different stages, so the nutrient focus shifts between them.

Time to Conceive® For Women is formulated for the preconception window, supporting egg quality with higher-dose ingredients like MicroActive® CoQ10, Alpha Lipoic Acid and Methylfolate, the kind of nutrient support that matters most in the months before you conceive.

Time to Carry is formulated for pregnancy itself, and is designed to be taken in all three triemsters. Vitamin D and Folate are important nutrients needed in both the preconception and prenatal stage, but other nutrients become important in the prenatal stage. For example, three new nutrients stand out as key in pregnancy. Iodine and Choline for the baby’s brain, Calcium for mum and baby’s skeletal development. To learn more about these nutrients, the other 22 nutrients in our prenatal, and the importance of taking a different prenatal supplement to a preconception supplement, we'd recommend reading this blog.
